The short version

1. Who we are

This website is run by Casa Olivia ("we" or "us"), a vacation rental home in St. Johns County, Florida. This policy explains what personal information we collect on casaolivia.org, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. What we collect

3. How we use it

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising. We do not send marketing emails.

4. Who we share it with

Only with the services that help us run bookings, and only what they need:

ServiceWhat for
StripePayments, the card on file for the deposit hold, and fraud prevention
ResendDelivering our emails to you
NetlifyHosting this website, storing booking records and sending us booking notifications
Google FontsLoading the fonts on this website (your browser connects to Google to download them)

We share our calendar with Airbnb and VRBO so the same dates can't be booked twice, but it only shows dates as "Reserved", without any guest details. Stripe, Resend and Netlify handle your information on our behalf under their own data protection terms, and only to provide their service to us. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our property, our guests or ourselves.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This website does not set any cookies of its own, and we use no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies.

Our payment processor, Stripe, uses cookies and similar technology to keep payments secure and detect fraud, for example to recognize when a stolen card is being used or when a bot is trying cards. It may also show a quick security check (hCaptcha). Stripe uses this information only for fraud prevention and security, never for advertising. These are essential for taking payments safely. The cookies Stripe uses and how long they last are listed in Stripe's cookie policy.

Your choice: when you first visit, you can accept or deny these cookies.

We remember your choice in your browser. You can change it anytime with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of our home page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. How Stripe handles your information: Stripe's privacy policy.

Do Not Track: we don't track visitors across websites, so a browser "Do Not Track" signal doesn't change anything on this site.

6. How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for your stay and for tax, accounting and legal requirements, generally up to 5 years after your stay. Stripe keeps payment records as required by financial regulations. After that, we delete them when they're no longer needed.

7. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to see the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@casaolivia.org. We'll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some records when the law requires it, for example for taxes. California residents can also request this information under California law.

8. Security

This website uses an encrypted connection (https). Card details are handled only by Stripe. Access to booking records is password protected and limited to us.

9. Children

This website is not meant for children. The person making a booking must be at least 25 years old, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
